Mission:

The Reimer/Costello Duo’s mission is to explore the nascent repertory of music written or arranged for piano and drum set. Using these instruments, and crossing between classical and popular music styles, the duo presents new repertoire that has a place in both the contemporary concert hall, as well as the bar/club scene. This connection between popular and classical music has a unique educational value as well. The Reimer/Costello Duo aspires to connect with a large demographic of young musicians, by introducing them to the music and composers of their generation. Using this exciting new repertoire, the educational aim is to present new perspectives on the role of piano and drum set in today’s music, and inspire students to push the boundaries of their own instruments, and the genres with which they are typically associated.
